the only issue i've seen so far is when i import my achievements the new ones trigger as done
That is a bug. It has been identified and reported to the programmers, who are working on it. We may see a patch to correct the problem.

The latest patch file should address that.

Well, that didn't take long. We have been out with the new episode less than a day and it is already up on pirate sites. :x

Just a word of caution. I know folks reading this will have gotten the game from our site where the software is safe but others need to be careful. We have no way of knowing whether or not any mal-ware has been added to the versions on those sites.

A patch is already out and the release is updated to the patched version. If you are on 1.7.2 then you shouldn't experience the issue. The thing is, if an earlier version messed up your achievements then the game won't be able to reliably fix them by itself. If you've backed up your achievements and saves then, after patching the game, you can try clearing the game data (by clearing your cookies) and re-importing your backed up saves and achievements. Ideally that should fix it.

Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience. Two nasty bugs slipped through the cracks during testing, and were only noticed after the release. The other issue, for those who are interested, was a constantly triggering achievement pop-up in the main menu under certain conditions.

It seems I'm in this case: I first downloaded the non-patched version and played it with Google Chrome, then downloaded the patched version but it still displays all the Wednesday achievements as done. I then played the patched version with Internet Explorer and the list is correct! However I would prefer to continue to play with Google Chrome as I experienced difficulties to see everything with Internet Exploreri n the past. I'm sorry for the following question but I am really, really, really, not good with computers: how do you clear your cookies? :oops: :?

For Google Chrome, press the 3 dot pancake menu button at the top right of the browser window and...

select "History" ---> "History"
On the following page on the left side there should be a "Clear Browser Data" link. Press that.
On the pop-up page called "Clear browsing data" select the "Cookies and other site data" option, at a minimum.

That should sort it out. Then you can import your Achievement file again.

So when I try opening the game in FireFox I get this message:

Thanks for making this game and for your help telling me what I am doing wrong here. Previous 6 episodes worked no problem.

This indicates that you are trying to run the game from inside the compressed zip file. This is a "helpful" feature of later versions of Windows that is intended for someone to quickly look at a Word document or similar. The game must be fully extracted before it can be played.

To fully extract the game, find your BEW-S01E07.zip file. Right-Click on it, and then choose Extract All... Take the defaults and you should see a progress bar showing the game being extracted from the compressed file.

Once it finishes, you should have a new folder titled BEW-S01E01 and you can play the game normally from there.

Hope that helps
