- Open Daz Studio
- Load a Genesis 8 Basic Female in Daz (Free)
- in the Paramaters tab under the General Section set Resolution Level to Base (For export to Unreal)
- in the Paramaters tab under the General Section, set SubDivision Level to 0 (For export to Unreal)
- Open a Timeline Tab if not already open from the Window -> Panes (tabs) drop down.
- Makes sure the timeline marker is on frame 0 and press the create key button (Bottom rightish) (Basically a save pose button)
- Move the timeline marker to frame 1 and pose the Genesis 8 figure. Then press the create key button.
- Advance the timeline marker to frame 2 and pose the Genesis 8 figure to the second pose and press the create key button.
- Repeat for as many poses as you want to save.
To Export out of Daz:
1. Make sure the bottom of the Animation timeline Type is set to TRSO (Transforms, Rotation, Scale, Other)
2. Select the figure to export from the scene list (in case you have more than one figure loaded, they have to export separately. Select one figure at a time)
3. Under File menu select Export
4. Make sure FBX is the filetype, and give it a relevant name.
5. Match the following settings exactly:
Export Settings.png
That's it. This saves each pose into a frame of the animation that I can then use Unreal to parse into individual poses.
If you want to create full animations, that's great too, but I'm not going to go into how to do that. If you already know how, go for it! Just be sure to use the same export settings and export all figures separately. You can do Solo Female. Solo Male. Male-Female. Female-Female. and whatever else. I won't guarantee to use everything submited, but having a library of options at hand can be very helpful and a huge timesaver for me.
