We are doing a series of updates and upgrades on BEW systems. one of those is an update to the latest forum version. There will be oddities and glitches until we have all the changes finalized. I appreciate your patience and all will be well soon.

The process may take a few weeks to complete fully, but mostly everything is working. Fixing the cosmetic (prettyness) of things is last on the list of updates, so please forgive the default templates that are on the site until we get everything running smoothly.

Having said that, I am not really concerned. I usually go through the whole game every time there is a new chapter. The big problem is at Manny's. Ben needs an assistant because whenever he has to check a plumbing problem and is away from the bar area, El Lardo sneaks back in. The ladies are starting to complain.

No, it shouldn't. And as far as I tell, your saves and achievements are there on the server and save-sync appears to be functioning.

It has to be client configuration. After reporting the lack of achievements and saves, I checked another (almost identical) system in my house. On the second system achievements and saves are present. So, it isn't the site or my ISP. I am currently comparing settings on each computer (it will take a while, since I can't dedicate much time to it). Considering how weird this is, it is probably something simple.

Having said that, my problem with one of my computers may not be related to funkiness in the Patron areas of the board and I have no way of checking since I am a blue.

So it turns out I can't access the patron area on my phone. The link is hidden under something else. Using a tablet or larger, the screen is big enough that the link is uncovered.

I have the same problem. Occasionally there's a link that does appear and those work, but yeah, others are hidden and inaccessible on a phone browser.

onsidering how weird this is, it is probably something simple.

The most likely, and simplest explanation is that online mode is not enabled on that computer for some reason from the main menu of the game when no game is in progress. That's the one where the first option is "New Game." Check to see if there's a flashing button at the bottom right corner.

No, that isn't it. The first thing I did was to cycle that button a couple of times. It is most likely some setting in Firefox or some oddball security setting.
It doesn't really matter since I am migrating to my new box that does have achievements and saves. I will probably futz (official programming terminology) around with it just to satisfy my curiosity, but it doesn't have a high priority for me.



Any news on Ben getting an assistant? The ladies are becoming concerned.

Please help! I tried to open up Version 1.6.5. But constantly appears Error loading file:..., is it necessarily to open up that patch if I
use English in game. Thanks

I'm not sure if the latest patch is rolled into the full game download.

Make sure that the patch file is merged with the base game. In other words, make sure to Download the full game, and then download the patch and overwrite files in the full game.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do you merge the patch into the base game? I re-downloaded the game and the patch and unzipped both, but I am getting an error message. Thanks for the help.

If you unzipped the full game into a folder called BEW, for example, just be sure to unzip the patch to the same folder and overwrite files when prompted.
